Comma Motorsport Full Synthetic 5w 50 used
- Run the engine for just under 5 mins, enough to warm the oil but not so hot you can’t touch anything!
- Drain the Apollo Tank via the plug, then the sump. Remove the Oil Filter, I decant the used oil into old oil bottles to visually check how much oil I have removed.
- Once I am happy that the oil is drained I replace the drain plugs and fit the new filter: Replace the Apollo drain plug, Use a new copper washer for the sump plug and nip it up (Specified torque is 25nm I believe), Partially full the new filter and using your finger with some fresh oil, smear the rubber O ring seal on the new oil filter and fit – I screw on the filter until contact is made with the filter housing and then tighten by hand a further 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn. Make sure the threaded part on the oil pump is tight as this can apparently undo when you remove the oil filter.
- I use Comma Motorsport fully synthetic 5w50. I immediately add 6.5 litres of fresh oil and start it up and check for leaks from the sump and apollo.
- With the car on level ground I then top up the remaining oil while the car is running using the dipstick as a guide, you should have roughly 7.5L of oil in when finished.
N.b. I initially fill to about 3/4 the way between max and min on the dipstick and then go for a test drive. I then recheck for leaks and check the oil level on the dip stick and often find the level is now at the max mark.
