Sump foam change from Gary Stone

Aside from the debate on whether I replace the foam baffle in my Rover K series that has been going on today. Which is & has always been a heated subject.
I have taken my sump off to check & maybe replace the foam baffle in my 2002 Superlight R.
I took a few pics as I was doing it which I thought may aid others in future or be interesting for some who have not done this before to see whats underneath the sump etc.
There are 14 vertical bolts from sump to block & 2 parallel that go through from the bell housing into the sump.
Once bolts are out a gentle tap with a rubber hammer did the job.
Removing the oil pick up pipe to then remove the plate that holds the foam & gasket in place. If you have the foam.
The gasket is from Dave Andrews (Oily) which has the 3 recormended extra holes in place to allow better oil drainage back into sump.

Sump torque settings

Sump bolts 25 NM long through bolts from bellhousing to sump 35-40 NM.

Baffle plate nuts 10 NM.

Watch the sump plug, I add a soft copper, washer, torque to around 25 NM the pan is aluminium so you don’t want to strip threads
